Enhancing outdoor provision

As you know, in Foundation Stage we use the outdoor area almost every day to extend your child's learning. We like to support whatever is going on in the classrooms by experiencing activities on a larger scale.

There are many learning opportunities that we would like the children to experience, but we may need a little help from you to support this.

We are asking that mums, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles etc bear us in mind if they are having a clear out of any of the following...

  • any old towels/blankets/covers etc that can be used for den building
  • a clothes horse or similar
  • any used tyres - we can use these to make miniature gardens or assault courses to develop physical abilities
  • wooden off cuts or other real life building materials for the children to build with
  • plumbing equipment such as pipes for water play
  • off cuts of guttering to make channels for water or balls to travel down
  • any spare gardening equipment you may have, especially child sized forks/trowels etc
  • extra garden planters and/or large containers for planting in
  • any decorative stones or pebbles left over from a garden project - even if it is just part of a bag
  • natural resources such as shells/pine cones/conkers/logs etc
  • ribbons/tinsel for weaving
  • any beads or buttons
Thankyou in anticipation.
